Space, Balance, and Rules of Thirds in Advertisement

Advertisments are not typically viewed as a home for great cinematography, but the rules of good visual design still apply. The Rule of Thirds sees a great deal of use, though as in film, this is broken when the style calls for it.

Narrative from a Single Painting

My attempt to pull a story from a painting. Went for a bit of a humorous angle, with it wall being a bit of a disaster for the poor young couple.

Cubist Time Photography

Ottawa is often represented with the historic and seemingly unchanging Parliament. I wanted to show that even around Parliament there is growth and life.

Expressionist Styles and Portrait Art

From left to right: realism, woodcut, abstract colours

Expressionism Drawing to Music

Song 1: A mixture of an optimistic beginning and a tragic end.

Song 2: This song to me sounded like a country fair (with a bit of drizzle). Usually when listening to a song I hear a narrative or a scene, not simply colours and for this song I could only hear the scene.

Song 3: A clash of deep booming sounds and light floating sounds. Eventually they began to 'dance' together. I felt a need to show that growing dance.

Song 4: A song of deep rich noises with some lighter more golden sounds.
Song 5: A dark and ominous song with small bouts of light
